Is it worth buying the Hardware Kit?
If you love the thrill of sourcing parts yourself, you absolutely can! If you head to a local hardware store, the raw material cost is very low. However, if you plan to buy everything online (like Amazon), keep in mind that due to minimum pack sizes, you will likely spend between $100 and $150 out-of-pocket.
For example, standard screw assortment kits usually only contain 20–25 pieces of each length, but this project requires 56 pieces of M3x16 screws and 94 specialized M3 square nuts. To get the exact numbers online, you'd have to buy multiple bulk packs and end up with hundreds of leftovers.
Our $99 Hardware Kit saves you the headache, the extra cost of bulk packaging, and includes the pre-printed calibrated spring.
📢 Special Early-Adopter Notice: Direct Creator Support Included!
The 3D models (STL files) and the Bill of Materials (BoM) are 100% finished and ready for you to print. However, the final, glossy PDF assembly manual is still on my workbench being polished.
What does this mean for you?
If you purchase now, I will personally email you the digital files and the complete parts list. Because the step-by-step manual is still in development, you will get my 100% personal attention. You will have direct email access to me (the designer) to guide you through the printing, calibration, and assembly process.
You get to be among the very first people in the world to build this, with the creator of the Mr. Slinky Escalator acting as your personal guide.
Please note: Since I deliver the files manually, it may take a few hours for me to send them to your inbox after purchase. Thank you for supporting an independent maker!
